Her dissertation was on how gendered spaces frame women's relationship with the Internet. Prior to doctoral studies, Dr. Royal had a long career in Marketing at Compaq Computer in Houston and NCR Corporation in Dayton, OH. She has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Richmond and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Additional detail regarding her education and experience can be found on her online resume. She taught Web Publishing and technology related courses for 5 years at UT, and spent one year teaching at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, prior to coming to Texas State. She is delighted to have the opportunity to work with students in Central Texas.

She hosts her own concert review Web site, On That Note (although it's mostly just pics and video from the shows I attend), a tech blog at cindytech.wordpress.com, and enjoys working on other Web design projects. She also writes for Texas Music magazine and is the editor of their online newsletter.

Lab schedule
You can use the OM 212 lab ANY TIME IT IS OPEN, but the lab assistants during other times are not able to assist you with our projects.

Equipment Checkout - We have digital still cameras and camcorders assigned to this class. Please contact me in advance if you want to check one out. You will be allowed to keep it for up to two days, so plan your shoots accordingly. On the day you return a still camera, you must download your photos and delete them from the memory stick at the first available lab time and return the camera to the Instructor. To reserve a camera for a specific date, email me.

You MUST return any equipment in full working order at the established time. It is important to respect other classmates' needs to use the equipment. NO EXCUSES will be accepted. Failure to return the equipment on time will result in an automatic reduction of 10% from your final course grade, and your equipment checkout privilege will be revoked for the remainder of the semester.

You are responsible for the equipment that you checkout. Failure to return any equipment due to loss, damage, theft or any other reason will result in the replacement value of that equipment being charged to your TX State account.
